Every year, we home lovers get a bit restless—we want to upgrade, refresh, or even do a full transformation. Sometimes we overthink it, only to realize that our first idea was actually the best. But then again, not always.

For me, helping clients make design decisions comes naturally. But when it comes to my own home? That’s a different story. I know what I love (and what I don’t), but making permanent choices—like reupholstering a sofa or investing in new furniture—feels more daunting. After all, you don’t want to be swapping out big-ticket items every year. That wouldn’t make any cents… see what I did there?

When it comes to lasting design decisions, the process should be an experience, not a rush job. The right piece, the right moment—it all falls into place when you give it time. And please, never make these big decisions during the silly season! Plan ahead and commit when you’re truly ready.

After more than a decade in the industry, my rhythm at home revolves around constantly restyling what I already own. Switching things up—playing with décor, art, objects, greenery, and focal points—creates a fresh feel without the need for constant new purchases. And why not rethink furniture placement too? Bring a cozy sofa into the kitchen (if the layout allows), or adjust your space to flow with the seasons.

That doesn’t mean I don’t shop or invest in beautiful things for my home. It just means I do so with intention. I ask myself: What kind of visual impact do I want to create? What story do I want my space to tell—for myself, my partner, and my loved ones?

Curating and styling are my tools for storytelling. Whether it’s setting up a tablescape for a dinner, rearranging art, or adding a bold, dramatic touch, it’s about creating moments that reflect you

So here’s my take: don’t overthink it—just do.
